is where they found the cadillac escalade last driven by the suspect, 38-year-old valdemaro who was shot and killed by the chp. police say he killed richard solace on 28. his son, 35-year-old frederick is still missing. they think he may have killed the younger solace and disposed of the body at a dumpster in the business park. if he turns up dead it will be the fifth victim the motive appears to be jealousy that one or both of the solace men were interfering with his relationship with his girlfriend cindy tran also among the victims. >> the motive appears to be a relationship issue. mr. valdemoro composed and placed on the bedroom door of

the older solace gentlemen a letter calling him a liar and asking him to stay out of hi relationship with ms. tran. >> reporter: nothing has come of this search so far. crews will be back at 8:00 tomorrow morning to resume the search. the search could extend through monday. >> thank you, monty. craigslist shut down a controversial part of its website. the adults services section. a bold black and white statement says censored. there are no ads there. ten days ago you might remember 17 attorneys general wrote an open letter to the company asking it to take down the section because they claim some people use it to sell prostitution and child trafficking. we contacted the company to find out if the section was shut down voluntarily. we have not yet heard back. a documentary on an alleged army coverup with a bay area man

at the center of the controversy opened up tonight. friends of pat tillman watched the film. rhea teramina has more. >> reporter: we are here at prune yard cinemas where the tillman story is playing ten times a day. a movie let out where a group of the movie goers were special. the high school football team where pat tillman went to high school. leyland football players and the director was here as well. they did a big q and a. pat tillman grew up in san jose before joining the arizona cardinals and u.s. army special forces. >> i wasn't planning on coming to the screening. when i heard all of leyland high's football team was going to be here i was moved to tears. >> reporter: emotions and tears choke up the director as he talked about his pat tillman

movie. the record needs to be set straight. >> this story is far different than the story most americans have been told. we wanted to get the truth out about pat, not only about how he died but who he was. >> reporter: prune yard cinemas is showing the movie about pat tillman. tillman quit the lucrative career as a football player to join the u.s. army and fight for his country. >> it made you look more deeply into what pat tillman was about not just what the media showed you. it showed a perspective of someone who looked into his life. >> reporter: he was a member of the u.s. army special forces and died in afghanistan. his family was told different stories about his demise. they called it a coverup. ultimately it was revealed he

be positive. the tagging is akin to a dog marking hi territory and he was disappointed. a university that failed to investigate sorority hazing. according to court documents howard claims she received a string of beatings, punching, kicking and paddling as part of ritualized hazing. she sued the sorority and eight students. four were convicted and sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years of probation. san jose state su spnded that sorority. california highway patrol officers teamed up with park rangers in the north bay inspecting tour buses coming through muir woods. they checked on the vehicles and

drivers as well. a similar check found plenty of problems last year. >> last time we did this we had to take several buses off the road. a total of three. one driver was without a chauffeur's license. we basically ensure the buses are compliant with state law and our permit system. >> the inspection was funded by federal grants awarded to the cpp. chp will have maximum enforcement through labor day weekend. there will be as many officers on the road as possible. in the first night dui arrests are up, but traffic deaths are down. in the bay area 77 drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving or drugs. up 43% from last year. no one has died. statewide officers arrested 436 drivers statewide four people died in traffic accidents.

a state of emergency in new zealand after a 7.1 quake. despite the quake's strength there were no deaths and two serious injuries. we have nbc to show us the damage. >> reporter: a state of emergency is amid concerns of unstable buildings. this after the island was hit by a quake measuring 7.0 in the early hours. a cur few has been imposed to prevent looting. there have been strong aftershocks. geologists determined that the

epicenter was located 27 miles west of christ church in the seabed at the depth of 2 1/2 miles. authorities have confirmed no fatalities reported so far. two men were injuried by falls glass and masonry. >> people are scared. the damage is incredibly frightening. it is a miracle no one lost their life. >> reporter: it is important to note new zealand is one of the most vastly populated countries and used to its fair share of earthquakes. the country experiences 14,000 tremors a year, but only 20 of them make it past a reading of 5.0. the inhabitants of christ church will likely spend a cold and scared night in leaking houses and forecasters say gale force winds are likely to hit the region in 24 hours. nina dell santos, nbc news, london. we are letting boys be boys

it's been the standard in most cities for decades on holidays drivers don't have to feed the parking meters. that has changed in san francisco. nbc bay area tracy grant has a look. >> reporter: on monday, labor day, a holiday, would you think you had to pay the meter or not? >> not. >> reporter: some people looked at us like we were crazy when we asked them about holiday parking. will you feed the meter or no? >> no. it's labor day. >> reporter: you are going to get a ticket. >> we are? that's crazy. >> reporter: you can call it crazy if you want but it is the law in san francisco. a holiday on the calendar is no longer a holiday for lugging around quarters for the meter. with the exception of thanksgiving, new year's and christmas day, you have to pay

for the sought after parking space or risk getting a ticket for $65. >> every dollar matters and we want to make sure we can provide the services we have always provided for all these years. >> reporter: san francisco municipal transportation authority spokesman paul rose said making money off the meters and tickets mean less cuts for the public. the rules changed two years ago and yet everyone we spoke to was shocked. you didn't know? >> i didn't. i'm a veteran. i have been here for years. i'm misinformed. >> reporter: some drives are accusing muni of deliberately withholding the information to rake in the bucks. drivers who are getting tickets on holidays responses are unpleasant to put it mildly. it says it was trying to keep up with the port of san francisco who new meters are enforced 365
